DLNA just expands more and more, eg audio/audio/audio/audio

Postby leekthrow » Thu Jan 30, 2014 1:05 am

It does the same thing for me in foobar2000, xbmc, and my pioneer receiver. This shot is from the foobar2000 browser: Image

I decided to pull down the older war files from sf.net... it works in 4.9-beta2
4.9-beta2 I get a list of artists and I can navigate to the files as expected to play them.
4.9-beta3 I get the same endless "audio" directory as with 4.9
4.9-beta4 gives the endless "audio" directory as well.

Subsonic Version: 4.9 (build 3819) – January 23, 2014
Server Version: jetty/8.1.11.v20130520, java 1.7.0_25, FreeBSD (136.3 MB / 207.1 MB)
To get ss to run under jetty, I followed the steps in http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10197

Postby mjarends » Fri Jan 31, 2014 7:10 pm

I have the exact same issue as the original poster. I installed mine using the install file. As the original poster said it was working fine up until the 2nd beta. After that I continued to see the behavior that is described above. I can provide additional logs if needed. I have tested with both Windows 8.1 File Explorer and the Android MediaBrowser app, both of these had worked up until beta 2. Additionally I have noticed that if I enable DLNA on the server, the server eventually consumes more and more memory (possible memory leak?) and then eventually becomes hung. I am running my server on Windows Home Server 2011.

Version 4.9 (build 3853) – January 23, 2014
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_11, Windows Server 2008 R2 (45.9 MB / 77.0 MB)

Me too. I'm using a Sony blu-ray player that has Netflix, Hulu, and a bunch of other web stuff.

On the Sony I navigate to Music > Subsonic > Music > Music > Music ... etc.

Windows 7
Subsonic 4.9 (build 3853) – January 23, 2014 - Windows Installer

I updated to 4.9 this morning and am receiving the same error on a Sony DLNA TV as well.

Music in particular simply bounces to the next and the next until an error comes on screen indicating reaching the limit to nesting.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue, on DLNA clients in Android and Windows. So it's definitely a problem in Subsonic.
It's a shame, I'm really exited about subsonic having DLNA support.
I read that this issue has been introduced after beta 2. I guess I'll go back to beta 2 and wait until this issue is fixed.

i am having the same issue - is there something that i have done incorrectly in the set up, or is this an issue with the code? It would be great if you could just stream the subsonic player to a DLNA renderer, but i can't figure out how to make that happen.

Having the same issue here... is there any official response to this yet? DLNA was a pretty big new feature, and now to not have it work correctly with the final version is frustrating. I am running on Ubuntu Server 12.04 and performed the upgrade via debian/ubuntu installer when 4.9 was released (so went direct from 4.8 to 4.9). Wondering if others having the problem have a similar configuration? Thanks.

I'm using subsonic 4.9 on debian wheezy with tomcat 6 and have the same problem. Browsing my main music folder ends up in an endless recursion call. Two other folders are browseable. This main folder contains the most of my music ~ 1000 files. Is it possible that the size of the dir's is a problem?

This is happening to me as well viewing from Playstation 3. The main audio folder recursively just keeps displaying with no tracks.

Same issue here running Subsonic 4.9 (build 3853). Installed using apt on Ubuntu. Client end is Windows 8.1 and a Yamaha AV. Note that it also only does that on my Music directory. I can navigate my video directory fine. I even tried removing the audio directory and re-adding (and rescan) but it didn't fix the issue.

So has anyone heard from the developer?

I'm considering stepping up and paying for the premium version, but not if this is the level of feedback and response...

Just upgraded from 4.7 to 4.9 and I am using Ubuntu Server 13.04 64 bIt.
I also have the same issue.
I can access the DLNA server from Yatse (XBMC Android Remote) and I can get to the first level of the Music share and it just doesn't go further than that entry. My Shared location is /mnt/drive4/Music/Organized and the first entry in the DLNA tree is "Organized". If I click on it, it just shows the same name again.
