Feature Requests for UltraSonic

Some features I've had in mind that'd be sick:

1. More advanced notification options
ie volume ducking (w/ & w/o a notification sound)

2. server/config backup options
for me, i'd like server backups, but the whole app's config would be nice. I'm constantly flashing new roms on my phone and having to resetup my two servers

3. Reset play settings after server change
i'm referring basically to repeat. after a server change, it should go back to no-repeat.

4. Share 'Now Playing'
add the share icon to now playing and send a subsonic share link to whomever.
don't know the feasibility of this one (especially with the apparent lack of a mobile player on web-based subsonic...), I just have had this list open for a few days and wanted to add a fourth haha

Could an option be added to preload more songs (or even the entire play queue) when on wi-fi? I spend much of my time in wi-fi areas and it'd be handy to have songs automatically preloaded before I go outside without having to pin songs or albums.

For some reason I stopped receiving notifications from the forum so I missed all of these posts. I'm not sure how quickly I will be able to look into these features. The next release or two will try to solve some stability issues and not any new features. I've also been swamped at work and I will be for the foreseeable future, hopefully it clears up soon.

Wow, I think I just thought of a very useful feature. In short, the feature is a conditional server address.

1. If NOT Connected to specified WiFi (Your home), use the normal server address to connect as usual. This means that data/music leaves your server, passes through the internet, and is picked up on your Phone over whatever connection you have.
2. If connected to specified WiFi (Your home), use the LAN (Local) IP address to your server. This means that data/music NEVER leaves your home WiFi. It instead leaves your server, goes to your router, and reaches your Phone....never passing through internet.

The ultimate goal of this feature is to greatly improve speeds While connected to your home WiFi where your server exists. This feature would imply that you provide 2 additional pieces of information in your Ultrasonic settings---> Your Home WiFi Network Name/SSID and the LAN (Local) IP address to your server on your home WiFi network. Think about it.

That's how any modern nat router works with a custom domain name. If you are internal, traffic is routed to the internal ip, if external, it's routed over the internet.

For some reason I am getting playback of one song starting up before the prior song has stopped. I do not have Gapless turned on but tried that with no change. Doesn't happen on all songs but I can repeat it with one of my playlist where the first song still has a good 30 seconds remaining and the next song starts up. Same playlist using the basic web player works perfect.

Your absolutely right. Unless you have almost any consumer grade router. Which are basically poorly programmed garbage anymore.

Most lack the "loopback" adapter that does what you describe any more. Makes or necessary to have two configs or requires you to run a custom DNS server on your home network.

And please don't think I'm talking out my rear end. I'm very well versed in consumer network hardware. This is a legitimate issue. And have the option to specify a different config for WiFi would be very appreciated!

I'd like to be able to stay online, continue Scrobbling, but be able to select from albums that I have pinned only. At the moment, the only way I can see those albums is if I go into Offline setting.

Larger control buttons in landscape for when playing in car dock would be great

Pause playback on bluetooth disconnect (the original Subsonic app does this).

This would be useful for in my car. When I turn of my engine (and thus car stereo) the UltraSonic app starts playing through the phone's speakers.

replaygain/vorbisgain support and the ability to turn it on and off would be very useful in the client. (Think very varied playlists, etc.)

One thing I absolutely love about Pandora is the fact that they support FordSync. When I pair my phone to the car, I can call up Pandora and each song and artist is displayed on my cars screen.

It would be great if this feature was supported in UltraSonic. I am not entirely keen on wanting the voice commands or dash controls (but that'd be awesome too), I just primarily would love to see the artist and song in the display.

Has there been any thought into this type of development?

But have you considered adding playback speed support?
(great for audiobooks, and podcasts).

I just discovered UltraSonic and installed it on my Galaxy S4. The official subsonic Android app and web interface both work normally, but I'm having a weird issue when using the same server in UltraSonic.

Other than moving the cache folder to /storage/extSdCard/ultrasonic/music, there's nothing odd about my Subsonic setup. I'm not using HTTPS.

Any song I try to play from the server downloads the album art and track info normally. Playback looks like it begins, but it's silent, and the elapsed time keeps counting up to 00:04 and resets back to 00:00 over and over again. The album art is being cached to the /ultrasonic/artwork folder, but nothing is being written to /ultrasonic/music. Not even new folder names. I'm not even seeing the UltraSonic client in "Now Playing" or Status in the Subsonic web interface.

Is there a log I can check to see what the error might be?
