your server works over HTTP in the app so I'll dig into my server configuration as well as my router.

the strange thing is that all of the other apps work just fine, so I need to figure out what is "special" about my network

And my server is an SSL connection.

my gut points me towards whatever you set up as a DNS reference in your router. I'd check that out first before getting into the server - especially if you're not seeing anything helpful on the server logs.

The other approach I take with a mystery problem is to sit back and ask myself, "What did I do around the same time as the last update that may not seem significant, but may in fact have been coincident with the start of the problem"?

I find often times I did something that didn't seem related at the time that turned out to be the source of the problem.

Yeah, that is my method, too.

I can honestly say that I have not touched the server or router configuration in nearly a year. This problem has only existed for a couple of months.

It's got me baffled. The only other thought is that I know your on CentOS and I know that in comparison to windoze Linux often causes problems with permissions issues. I'm not a Linux expert by any means, although I do use it occasionally. Just wondering if the new app maybe doesn't have permission to read the directory where your music is stored.

Maybe Daneren2005 might have a better handle on whether or not that's a theory worth looking at.

I doubt it's a permission issue if it works fine on everything but the Android client.

This android bug is very similar to whati am experiencing

https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8030

I need to connect with adb and do the ping test described in the OP to confirm, though.
