[Resolved] SS App on KitKat not downloading Music to SD Card

Similar problem for me. Until today it was working fine but now I cant play music anymore at all I found out that all my music went from the external SDCard (sdcard1) to the internal memory (sdcard) which is also quite sad (I bought an 32GB SD-card just to store my subsonic music there). It does not show any offline music anymore even though all music is available in /sdcard/subsonic/music
Also I am not able to change the cache location anymore.

Running 4.3.1 on Sony Z1 compact.

Please help!

I'm in exactly the same situation. My internal memory (/storage/sdcard) is quite crowded so I want Subsonic to use my sd card (/storage/sdcard1) but it completely refuses. If I could just understand why on earth someone would want a folder named sdcard that really has nothing with sd card to do but resides on internal memory...

I'm also on a Sony Z1 Compact, running Android 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod 11).

Just for the record, this problem is nothing better in version 4.4 of the app. It's really the big reason for me not using the app at all. Is there really no solution?

Which version of the app is that? Do you have an apk anywhere that I could download? The app is really useless the way it's right now...

4.3 let's you specify the cache location. Worked for me but I used a utility first to restore use of the SD card for apps... I'll try to send you pm with the apk tonight...

Looks like sindre leaves previous versions out on github. You'll find an apk here:

edit: Just for the record: the 4.3.1 app didn't do the trick for me. Now I'm down to 4.1 which is working like a charm

I didn't have this problem until my HTC One M8 updated to Lollipop last week. I installed apk 4.1 and it works again.

This might also be related to the fact that starting on KK android doesn't allow writing to the sd card by apps just willy nilly and is more locked down for "security". I had issues with several apps including dsub but fixed it in my case by removing that new "feature". The downside is you must be rooted for this. I imagine the reason the solution mentioned previously works because the app is given permission to write to certain folders only but depending on the version these folders vary.

Access to SD card is blocked again on Android 5.1.1 at least for Sony Z3
