Help! Subsonic domain lost???

Postby ChunkyPB » Sat Nov 01, 2014 6:25 pm

Hi,

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I have been using a *****.subsonic.org domain since May 2014. Starting yesterday, I can no longer connect using it. The network page says "Status: The web address "*****" is already in use. Please select another.".

Of course it's in use, I use it.... Do the domains not get tied to our premium account in any way? My about page lists that my premium subscription is current and active. Could someone else have taken that domain while I was restarting my computer or something?

I really hope someone can help me. I was quite attached to the domain name I was using.

I've seen this myself after a server reinstall on a different machine, and I *think* it is also reported when your ISP changes your public IP address. It often sorts itself out over a day or so, but you can try 'Save' in the network settings area to attempt an update. No joy, wait it out a day or two, I believe the reg server dumps to some unknown schedule (only Sindre knows).

My initial server name still says it is in use, and does not allow me to re-use it after installing the server again on a different PC.

This is what I receive when attempting to set it:

Status:NAME1.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (NoRouteToHostException)

Haven't used that subdomain in several months, is there a way I can relinquish it in order to use it again?

My problem was silly.

Initially forwarded ports on my router to the previous machine, needed to change the port forwarding on the new machine.

Working great with my domain now.
