Synology Subsonic not finding music.

Postby psyfer9983 » Mon Aug 04, 2014 4:56 pm

Hello. I have a Synology DS412+ with the latest DSM version (DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3) installed. I cannot get Subsonic to find any music. I think this is due to the hybrid RAID I have set up on my diskstation. I have tested Subsonic with a USB drive and it will find music but not with the hybrid RAID. Subsonic doesn't says "Folder not found" on the path "/volume1/music" which is on the hybrid RAID. So I know Subsonic can see the path but I don't know why it can't search the path. I thought is was a permission problem but I redid them, I even deleted and recreated the path. Any clues to fix this WITHOUT removing the hybrid RAID?

Thanks in advance.

Setup specs:

Synology DS412+ (DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3)
Subsonic 4.8 (build 3434) – April 17, 2013 - [Latest version on the "Package Center"]
Java 1.7.0_65 [Current version installed via "Java Manager"]

Never mind, I got it to work. Turned out its was a permission problem. I had to give "Everyone" read access along with the "Users" group. The "Subsonic" user is useless to give permissions to, thou I had read somewhere that it was the problem. I have never had this happen before and have never had to mess with the permissions on the old install/setup.

Double check the path, it is case sensitive so you need to make sure it is typed correctly. Check the permissions again. If it still doesn't find any music you may have to contact support.

Path seems to be ok. If I change the volume1/music to Volume... it say folder not found. Any idea if the permissions in the jpgs are correctly set?

Try giving the user "everyone" read and/or write access to the music path. I do see you have a Subsonic user. I don't have that user and couldn't create it which is why I had to use the "everyone" user. I'm sure it's a permission problem you are having.

Edit:
You may also try rebooting the DS. I had had to do this at one time.
