How to Change logo, favicon and Tab Title

Postby zeroth » Sun Jan 18, 2015 2:18 pm

I searched and didn't see a whole lot of this and maybe it's too simple for most but I'm gonna put all this in one post.

How to change Logo from default.

First you need to create your replacement. The replacement images needs to 156 x 36 in dimension or smaller. Just depends on your taste.
Next, navigate to your theme folder. on a windows install should be in here.. \subsonic\jetty\4305\webapp\icons\Yourtheme
Mine is called default_dark.
In a Standalone install it should be in a similar formate "/subsonic/jetty/4300/webapp/icons/yourtheme"
Go into your theme folder and find the file "subsonic_logo.png".
Rename that file by adding BAK to the end of the filename and save if you want to revert back or delete and replace with your image. Just keep the name exactly the same on the new image.

Changing the Favicon

First for changing your favicon is having a replacement. Favicons need to be 16 x 16 or 32 x 32 depending on your taste.
Subsonic uses a PNG file so you can simply take your image and resize to those dims and save as favicon.png.
Next, navigate to to the icons folder located \subsonic\jetty\4305\webapp\icons.
Inside you will see the file favicon.png. You can save the file by adding bak the end of the name or delete and replace with your new favicon.png. Name needs to be exactly the same. You will need to clear your browser cache for the changes to show usually.

Changing the tab tile in your browswer

Edit: Currently this only changes the login page. I'll update when I find the rest. Subsonic is still show in the tabs when I'm logged in.

First navigate to \subsonic\jetty\4305\webapp\WEB-INF\jsp and edit the file "head.jsp"
Change "<title>Subsonic</title>" to <title>Yourtabtitle</title>
save and exit and you will be good to go.

This is what worked for me. I'm by no means an expert so if there are any issues with this please feel free to update this and post any issues so other can learn.
