[Version 5.1] I can't se the Home -> Random list

Hello,

After updating from 5.0 to 5.1 I can't see the first site (Random-List) anymore.

http://localhost:4040/home.view?listType=random show nothing.

OK, I can see it, but there is nothing. No pictures, no titles, nothing but the word "->more".
The other submenus (starred o newest, ...) on "home.view" works fine. In 5.0 it worked fine also.
Please look the attached screenshot.

Anyone has the same problem? What can I do? Any help to fix it?

I don't know why, but after some Subsonic restarts the problem is gone.

I have the same problem. Random list is usually how I choose music so I hope it will fix itself over time.

Did you do anything special than stopping and starting the service?

I have the same problem. Restarting it hasn't fixed it.

Same here -- no random album list anymore after upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1. Worked fine with 5.0. Restarting of the subsonic servie on the server did not help. Any help/solution would be appreciated.

I downgraded after hitting this problem myself. Going from memory, this workaround seemed to work: You had to have "All Folders" selected from the drop down at the upper left corner in order for the random list to function. This sort of makes sense, as the feature has never seemed to take in to account which folder was currently selected (although that would be nice). It's definitely a loss of functionality, though. My primary use of subsonic is through picking albums out of this view, so it would really be nice to see this working again.

Mine has started to show again, without doing anything in particular. However I'm finding 5.1 extraordinarily slow and crashy.

Yep, same here in 5.1 Random on the home page only works if you select all folders form the drop down.

Just downgraded to 5.0 because actually I like the random per folder.

Odd..running 5.1 here and I get random on every dropdown, with pics as usual.

Just tried 5.2 and I'm still having this problem of no random albums displayed. "Recently Added" and other views work fine. Is there anything else I can provide to help debug this problem?

EDIT: I forced a rescan of all media and now it's working again! Woo-hoo!

I just upgraded from 4.9 to 5.2 and I had the same issue. The Random list never returned anything. If I try any of the other options (recently, All, Starred) it works correct.
Started a Full scan of all media and it has not started working yet. Waiting for the scan to finish and will report back.

EDIT: Confirmed, this resolved my issue. Random Albums are back.

I have the same issue. It is caused by having the automated scan setup within Subsonic. After the scan runs the next time the server is accessed the server content is missing. After I force a manual scan from within the web UI the media is displayed within Subsonic again.
