Subsonic User Interface Extremely Laggy

Relevant details about my system are below from the 'How to ask a question' sticky.

Problem Description: I have about 70,000 unique artists in my system now roughly and when I login to the user interface of Subsonic it is attempting to load all 70,000 clickable links on the left hand side of the screen. Is there anyway to turn off this feature or at least make it only pull the first like 100? This is causing quite an issue.

Troubleshooting Steps: I have no steps to resolve this issue. The UI is doing something that I can't control or that I do not know how to control.

Playback Application and Version: I am using the default web player that is embedded into the webpage.

Subsonic Version: 5.1 (build 4340) – January 26, 2015

Problem Filename: I do not have an issue with any file names or playing files.

Output from ffmpeg: The issue is not playing files. That is fine.

Anybody have any solution for this? I'm willing to try experimental stuff if need be.

The issue is that every time you login to the site even after clearing the browser, the left hand side of the screen ("Where it shows all your artists") contains 70,000 clickable links. I can't change this based on my browser though. I'm thinking this will take a code change on the server subsonic software or there may be some setting I'm not aware of to turn off this feature on subsonic?
