SIndre,

The Sonos Service was an amazing development. I have it working locally, but struggle to get it working for a few users external to my LAN. I've set my server up to use port 8080, instead of 4040 because of the convenience of not having to tell users to add a port number to my DDNS resolution.

That being said, I setup and entered the information on the customsd.htm, as shown in the tutorial online. It says it was successful, when submitted. When trying to add the service authentication credentials to my existing Subsonic Service account on Sonos I got a "Connection Error - There was a problem adding the [Service Name] account. A connection to [Service Name] could not be made." from the in the dialog UI. I then changed the port numbers of Endpoint URL, Secure Endpoint URL, Strings Table and Presentation Map entries to reflect the port I am using, 8080 and not 4040. I got the same message, unable to connect.

Looking through the log file, it does not appear that any device is trying to access my server via sonos, other than SID 242, my internal device.

Code: Select all
[2015-03-05 23:37:53,484] INFO SonosServiceRegistration - Enabling Sonos music service, using Sonos controller IP 192.168.1.115, SID 242, and Subsonic URL http://192.168.1.195:8080/ws/Sonos

Any ideas, as to what I've messed up?

Thanks,

Jacob

This release has unfortunately broken support for the popular Android client Dsub. I rolled my server back to 5.1 (build 4311), and all is well again. Please see the thread here for further discussion:

Hi,

I just upgraded to 5.2.1 directly from 4.9 and love the new features. Thank you!

However, the new white labels under the album art look really ugly and out-of-place. Is there a simple way to remove them?

Cheers :D

Ahhh, after typing the URL for the Endpoint into a web browser and getting a
Code: Select all
Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
I though a bit more, to realize the reason I went with port 8080, was so that I did not have port conflicts with my WHS ports and that it also prevented my user for having to type aport number at all. Oppps!

In the end I removed the port number for the SUBSONIC_IP, and it works like a champ. It works for both the Domain Name and the IP Address. I'm using a DDNS, so I'm not sure why phillipmcmahon was having trouble with using his IP Domain Name and resorted to the numeric address.

Also, I'm not having trouble with DSub either, but I could be a difference in server setup.

Cheers Again Sindre, this is great!

But something else has popped up ;) Since I was made aware that it was possible, I have turned off all transcoding options for my jukebox player, and things have played nicely. I won't say I can hear the difference between FLAC and mp3 V0, but I see no reason to transcode to mp3 when I don't have to. Anyway, today some of my files have been playing at what seems to be half speed, like a 45-record played at 33 1/3. I haven't spent much time looking into this, but it seems to me like it's the 24/96 FLAC files that are suddenly acting up. Are you aware of any changes that should cause them to play differently? I'm (almost) sure I've played those files in jukebox mode before today without this problem.

I am having the same issue but only with AAIF files.

Hi

I just install the new version and got few issues. I have to re install everything on my WHS HP490. I am unable to access subsonic using IE or Firefox. If i remotely access me server and then used localhost it works. Then I was able to rebuild DB / Access etc..The port I am using are the same used from previous version 4040 no change to the router same port forwarding.

Any clue..

Also when I opened the apps I used to have the Barean color all over the pages and now only the middle part the left side and the top are whites.
Is it something that I need to change/apply.

Thanks for your help, I really enjoy Subsonic Using it on my Tablet and phone
