Log Connection Problems?

I am having a problem where I frequently get long "Connecting to server..." wait times. Often this leads to retrying. If I do a "pulldown refresh" it will sometimes connect immediately and other times continue to wait.

I'm wondering if there is some sort of logging capability so I can try and figure out if this is a problem with the app, server, or network connection. When things are working fine, stuff loads so quick and it's beautiful, but the wait times when it isn't is starting to get to me. This isn't a new problem, just something I am finally getting around to asking about.

If you want to get the logs that are being collected automatically you can do Home tab -> Send Log. By default it sends to me, but since it just opens up in a email client you can change it to send to yourself and view the logs.

I've done this, but no log is attached to the email when I send it to my personal email.

No, I have a Moto X (1st gen) which doesn't have an SD slot.
