Same problem here with WMA files, although M4A files do play for me.

Sounds like a DRM issue....

Nope, none of my WMA files have DRM.

In any event, rather than waiting for a fix I'm using MediaMonkey to batch convert my 2,615 WMAs to MP3s. I should've done that years ago anyway. It should finish overnight.

I'm doing the same thing. Just keep checking back to see if someone responded. I also do not have a DRM problem. I have also reached out to the moderators via direct message.

I am having this trouble too... I thought it was an issue for me because I am running subsonic from my ReadyNAS 104 but seeing others with this problem makes me think not. Any fixes available? i have tried checking the transcoding folder and it is there with the correct lame and ffmpeg files. Thanks.

The only fix I found until Sindre fixes it in an update was to convert my WMA files to MP3s, and I'm glad I did anyway. Did it in one overnight batch job. Good riddance to a proprietary format.

I found a soulution for the problem. you can use the new decoder avconv that is a full replacement for ffmpeg.

just use the following decoder:
Code: Select all
avconv -i %s -acodec libmp3lame -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

Hope that helps.

And BOOM!! We are back. Thank you so much for coming into this thread and providing that transcode. Works perfectly.

Hello,

I'm using windows. I have 2 servers for redundancy. One server broke My WMA files broke after upgrading to version 5.2.1. I have another windows server using version 4.9 and my wma files played fine any browser with flash. I found this thread and was thinking to try and use "avconv". So the transcoder is residing in the C:\subsonic\transcode.

I have files

ffmpeg.exe
ffmpeg_license.txt
lame.exe
lame_license.txt
README.TXT

What files do I need to have in C:\subsonic\transcode for to be able use "avconv -i %s -acodec libmp3lame -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3" command line? Thanks

Also, I'm curious to why version 4.9 has the command line of "ffmpeg -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -" and then version 5.2.1 has "ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -b:a %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -"

I even tried to revert back the command from version 4.9, but I could not play my wma file. I have about 33 thousands files. I was not going to convert them all. When I had these wma files, i was using windows server for mms streaming as radio or on demand. So I have always kept it as wma. Please me know how I can rectify this on the 5.2.1 version so I can use the some new features. If not, I would rather revert back to the 4.9 version. Thanks
