Deleted folder/album still showing

Postby SenorSmartyPants » Wed Apr 22, 2015 2:56 pm

I reorganized some music and moved a 2 CD set from two separate directories into one directory for all the tracks and renamed that album directory. This new album shows up fine but the old directory with [2 CD] in the name still displays in subsonic web interface. If I click on it there is nothing listed. The directory has been deleted from the file system and I've run a scan and a clean up but it is still sticking around.

Ideas?

Does not help.

It also shows up in both my Dsub installs.

Settings, Media Folders, Clean-up database (Subsonic stores information about all media files ever encountered. By cleaning up the database, information about files that are no longer in your media collection is permanently removed.)

This should work.

I've clicked this yesterday a couple times. But I'm trying it again right now.

What should it say in the log when it completes this? I have it doing a media scan daily and it seems like it should remove missing things then too.

I still have not gotten this old deleted directory to disappear from subsonic.

How can I just delete my entire subsonic database and rescan from scratch?

Will this wipe out user play statistics? If not how do I do that?

I just did this right now... I've "Scan media folders now" and then i did "Clean-up database" and the dead links/tracks were removed.

P.S. when you click "Clean-up database" wait for the web page to completely reload before you browse again.

I ended up doing this

I've been making changes and deleting things since and no problems.

This is killing me! It happens a lot in this release.

Here is how I have been fixing it:

Problem - You rename a folder from "Counting Crows" to "2014--Counting Crows". Now subsonic sees both no matter how many times you clean up database and rescan folder.

Fix - Recreate the stupid directory in addition to the newly named one. So I create a folder called "Counting Crows" and copy any random mp3 into it. Then hit the Clean Database button followed by Rescan Database. You will have 2 folders at this point. Now delete the old "Counting Crows" and viola.

That is such a waste of time and hope that bug gets address in the next point release.

Guys, this gentleman's page, which I and others have referenced often to clean up database issues, is now off the net...did anyone happen to capture a screenshot or something of the page and instructions beforehand? I am kicking myself that I did not...it was the page at:

http://luke.carrier.im/2013/12/fixing-a ... -database/

Thanks to anyone who can help with the db.view commands that used to be on that site.

It helps a bit, yes, and I had seen that page, but the page I am referring to had the exact SQL statements to use to specifically clear out things like Genres, Playlists, etc. so that you could retain ALL your other settings, including podcast selections, users, settings, players, etc. but get rid of just the table data that you care to. It was a brilliant one page screen grab. Like an idiot I did not screenshot it.
