FLAC decoding stops working

I use all the default transcoding settings and everything plays just fine.
EXCEPT, every week or two, FLACs simply won't play.
The only way to get them to play is rebooting computer and they work fine for a week or so and then just stop.

Any ideas what cause this to happen and solutions?

Bummer- this is becoming more and more common. Once every day or two verse once a week or so.
Really would love a solution.

My problem is somewhat opposing. Flac plays fine for some time, then I reboot the server, and it stops playing all together. I have a VM right now I'm playing with to attempt to get around this issue, however nothing I do seems to help. I'm reinstalling the VM now to try completely fresh, then I'll be taking a snap of it with no software on it. The music I will be testing will be local in the /var/music and should HOPEFULLY work right out of the box. I'll update on what happens after a reboot shortly.
