play:Sub 1.2 is live in the iOS App Store now.

Here's the What's New for v1.2:

tl;dr: Playlists (seriously!), self signed SSL cert.

New features:

• Support for self signed SSL certificates.
• Complete playlist support:
  Create, update and delete playlists.
  Re-order playlist tracks.
  Personal and shared playlists.
  Cache complete playlists to device.
  Playlists are of course supported in offline mode.
• Enhanced contextual menu across the board:
  Long-press any item to bring up relevant actions.
  Easily navigate between associated artist, album, tracks and folders.
  Add tracks, albums, artists or folders to playlists.
  View and manage caching.
• Enhanced play queue:
  Re-order play queue tracks.
  Clear play queue.
  Save play queue as playlist.
  Cache complete play queue to device.
• Support iOS’ sleep timer for stopping playback.

And of course the obligatory tweaks, performance improvements and bugfixes.

I'm unable to get this app to do anything besides freeze and lock up my phone. Appear to be having issues loading the library. I have around 116k tracks. Any advise on how to get this to run?

The app makes a database migration when upgrading from previous versions.
A large database possibly coupled with an older iDevice makes this migration take too long time during launch, and iOS shuts down the app.

The only workaround with the current version is to re-install the app

I will be submitting a fixed update Real Soon (anyone interested in getting a test version before release, please send me a private message with your email address).

The re-install resolved the issue of the crash at the logo screen for me. There is also a nice update informing you of numeric progress at the initial library loading screen. That's helpful for large libraries!

Hi,

I just submitted an update for App Store review, which resolves the issue of crashing in app startup, occurring on installations with a large music collection (large database in play:Sub) and/or older devices.

Also, working to improve handling of large collections, which seems to be the cause of problems in crusher's case.

I have been loving play:Sub since the beginning. My problem is I now have one listening environment where I am in dire need of an equalizer. Any plans for such?

I hadn't planned on doing it for the next couple of releases at least, but given enough requests I'll see if I can move it up i priority.
