Subsonic Installation on NAS

Postby sfreema1 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 1:22 pm

Good morning all,

I am trying to move my subsonic (premium) installation off my Windows machine onto one of my NAS machines. I have looked at several different sources of information, and most are out dated and are no longer applicable to the NAS types that I have. I currently have these types of NAS machines (willing to install it on whichever one works):

QNAP TS-453
QNAP TS-410
QNAP TS-412
QNAP WD My Cloud 4TB (Single white case, not the 4-bay model)

I love subsonic and have been using it for years and the SONOS support is a must, so no other Subsonic variants will do. I'm not knocking them, it's just that to my knowledge none of them support SONOS. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. If anyone has successfully installed Subsonic on any of the above hardware, please share your experience. I'm completely willing to do the research, etc; I just have hit an impasse in this latest attempt (been trying for about a year).

Thanks very much for any help you can provide.

Hi!

At present, NAS support isn't really an "official" feature of Subsonic. It has always been driven by the user community.

That being said, I hope to be able to make official NAS releases in the future.

I have it working fine on TS-569L however FFMPEG for FLAC is a PITA after firmware updates. Just install the version that comes on the QNAP, then update with the WAR file. Where did you get stuck?
