Problem uploading to specific media folders & user access

I am using the trial version of Subsonic 5.2.1 and I am having problems uploading to specific media folders. I have created a few folders successfully, but it seems that all of my uploads are just put in a general folder despite choosing a desired destination on the drop-down menu. In fact, all files can be viewed by the several users that I set-up (despite limiting each user's access). I checked the how-to pages and forum already, but didn't see how to ensure that uploads are kept in separate folders.

Is this maybe a feature that is not available with the trial version? Are there any suggestions on how to correct this problem so I can actually keep or move files into separate folders? I need this feature to work, as there will be various users that should only have partial access.
