get detailed grouped stats

hi there
my subsonic based (ampache) apps project just took a serious turn with a couple of deals offered by 2 label companies

this might be really awesome but whats offered is a spotify like model of revenue share
so whats the best way to filter the number of tracks played during X time for a group of tracks (might be across multiple artists/albums)

can i just a tag of the label name to each track that they produced and retrieve the stats on that base ?
is there any pro implementation out there ?
