DLNA control from DSub

Hello, hopefully this is the right place for my question. I'm trying to setup DLNA control from DSub on a Yamaha RX-V477. I am able to browse my subsonic media and play it back from directly on the receiver, and I am also able to control it with a generic DLNA controller such as UPnPlay on android, but when I try to control the stereo with Dsub I get an error on the stereo. Is there some setting in Dsub I missing, or might there be something special about the way Dsub controls DLNA?

There are a couple of different errors that I have seen people have in the past:

1) If you are using https for your server it must have a valid signed certificate or it will fail. There is an option Settings -> Playback -> Cast proxy which will fix this
2) Some receivers just refuse to accept connections from Subsonic. I have never been able to figure out a way to fix this (or even what the root problem is).

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply!

1. As far as I know I'm not using https. I will try the proxy setting just in case though.
2. I have been able to control the receiver with a generic android DMC application, as well as locally browse and play media on the stereo from the stereo's own (admittedly crude) UI. The problem only seems to happen when I try to control the stereo with DSub.

The stereo recognizes that the track was requested and seems to display some of the basic metadata, but eventually just throws and error and just sits there.

I did originally have an issue playing from the subsonic DLNA server on all devices, but I resolved that by adding the server's local IP into the subsonic.sh app using the $SUBSONIC_HOST variable. Is there a chance there is something else I have not setup right in this file which DSub is relying on?

Hmm, I'm not sure why, but selecting the "use device proxy" seems to work. Is there any way around using this? I would think that would be a fairly heavy battery drain, would it not? (I may just not understand what this setting really does though).
