Two clients one network

Postby xstretchx » Wed Oct 28, 2015 4:02 pm

I recently moved in with a buddy and we have two separate subsonic clients on two different devices. When I try to access my subsonic through yourname.subsonic.org it pulls up the login for his client. So his client is the one that is being recognized by our public IP. Does anyone know a way I could set something up to either call my device IP from within the public IP or another way I could access it?

You have to change the default port number of your subsonic installation (e.g. 4040 to 5050), and do a portforwarding to the correct port (e.g. 5050) in your router... though I could be wrong

Great idea! That resolved it partially. What I had to do was change the port, but that still doesn't allow to use my yourname.subsonic.org. So I just have to type in my public ip then the port number. ie http://192.168.0.1:5050. For future reference if anyone else has the same problem. Thanks for the help mitrailer!

Edit: It actually resolved it fully. I guess it just took a while to take effect and I can now use yourname.subsonic.org.
