Media Folders can not longer be found after upgrade to 5.3

Postby Noqqing » Mon Nov 23, 2015 1:01 pm

Upon upgrading from 5.2.1 to the latest version 5.3, my media folders can no longer be found. Was working fine before upgrade. Able to access Media Folder locations successfully via Windows Explorer.

Does admin have permissions in Settings?

What permissions in settings are you referring to? I do not see any settings specific to giving Admin permissions to Media Folders. Prior to the upgrade to from 5.2.1 to 5.3 it was working perfectly.

Thanks for the reply, seems the community has tapered off a bit.

Go to Settings -> Users. Select the user "admin" and verify if the media folder of your music is "checked"

Since you are on a Windows server, also make sure that the "Subsonic" user has access to the media folder where you store your music.

On my windows server, I have to ensure that the madsonic (which I use) service has login as a service enabled and use an actual username and password instead of the default "service" login.

Thanks mitrailer,

Media Folders are not listed to "check" on the admin user's settings page.
All there is on that page is:

Select User (admin selected of course)
Max bitrate
Change Password checkbox & email address field
Save and Cancel buttons

Am i missing something?

Success! Changing the user that the service was logged in as from "Local System" to my Subsonic user account did the trick.

Thanks for your help!

Mitrailer

After changing the service login I am now also seeing the "Allow access to these media folders" check boxes on the admin users setting page, where I wasn't before.

Thanks again folks!
