Subsonic Android V 4.4 on Android 5.0 Music won't download

I am able to connect to my server and display the artist list from the Android app. When I go to play a song it won't start downloading to play. I am not able to change the cache location in the settings, it is "greyed out". Any other ways to trouble shoot the issue? There doesn't seem to be anything pertinent in the logs on the server side.

I ended up buying the Dsub client for Android. It worked right away and is a nice app.

Can you change the cache location of dsub?

/groaning/ I understand the permission issue that Android introduced that necessitated the fixed cache location, but Android has eased the restriction. Please re-enable this feature that seems very important to many of us.
