trouble finding files in initial setup

Postby ethanb » Sat Jan 23, 2016 8:03 pm

Hi everyone, I have started setting up Subsonic at home with a RPi and external HDD. I followed the process here:

http://lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-a-ras ... 1583221462

Everything has gone fine except for the stage where I try and get Subsonic to load files into its database so I can access them from the web interface. I pointed Subsonic to the location where the files are stored and according to the logs it finds what I put there (a single mp3). However the file never shows up in the web interface. This is what I see in the log:

[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Starting to scan media library.
[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Scanned media library with 2 entries.
[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Marking non-present files.
[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Marking non-present artists.
[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Marking non-present albums.
[1/23/16 7:55:35 PM UTC] INFO MediaScannerService Completed media library scan.
[1/23/16 7:55:36 PM UTC] INFO PlaylistService Starting playlist import.
[1/23/16 7:55:36 PM UTC] INFO PlaylistService Completed playlist import.

No signs of errors. Any idea what might be going wrong? Strange to get so far through with everything working well and then hit this snag at the last step.

Thanks!

One other bit of info - I can see that files are being processed on the left hand side, but not completely so. I see this for the 1 file I tried to add:

0 artists
0 albums
1 songs
1.6 MB
0 hours

But nothing in the middle of the screen and nothing I can play. Any ideas?

FYI this is fixed; was a permission issue in Subsonic and perhaps with how I mounted the HD.

Cool stuff, but not the easiest to configure.
