How to bypass the jukebox's default transcoding?

Postby chasmo » Sun May 10, 2015 8:55 pm

Anyone know how to bypass the jukebox's default transcoding? I have a custom script to apply ReplayGain values that works great with the web player, and I'd like to do the same with the jukebox. It's currently not really useful with playlists when there are huge volume changes from song to song.

Things I've tried over the last 3 years:

--Altering the java code (didn't work)
--creating a new, custom ffmpeg.exe that includes my transcode script (wouldn't play)

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I'm experiencing the same even in 6.0b1.

Nope - no response on this thread and it looks like the latest version still uses the default transcoding rather than allowing us to specify one.

Jukebox mode is fine for playing one album, but if you actually want to use it as a jukebox, the volume levels are all over the place.
