Have you tried to clear the browser cache + force refresh the page?

I have exactly the same issue at my work place. Tried three different computers at work now (with all browsers above) and no one starts playing music. Tried also clear/refresh without any luck.

Can you please look for any error messages in the Javascript console?
In Chrome: View > Developer > JavaScript Console

Try reloading the page and see what it says.

Thanks

Hi Sindre,

Can you make the external player working again please? I went to the settings, then managed to use a custom URL. I receive Status: https://myurl.com responded successfully. Unfortunately when edit the play.m3u file, I can see there's still the port 4040 attributed to the generated URLs and that the protocol is HTTP instead of HTTPS. Otherwise, thanks for this version, I love the new user interface!

I do like where everything is headed, but like a few others I have had to roll back to 5.3 because of the missing index on the left pane. I hope there is an option for this in the full release of 6.

I also like the idea a few people have had about putting the player or now playing in the right pane instead of the bottom with the auto hide queue.

I'll have to also agree with the suggestion for now playing and queue perhaps in the right pane. The queue auto-popping up on me when I hover over it has always been kind of an annoyance.

I really like the direction Subsonic is headed, although one thing that is bothering me is that the Subsonic Android app stopped authenticating when I upgraded to the new version.

No worries, I'm adding an option "Show index in left sidebar" to display the list or artists there for those who prefer that.

:D :D :D :D

Thank you Sindre. That was the only thing stopping me from fully adopting v6. I tried, but just couldn't get used to it.

Thanks for this great update, Sindre!

The entirety of my music library is FLAC, but with the new player, it doesn't show the status of the track, and only shows 0:00/0:00. Also, if I pause the music, and play again, it starts from the beginning. I tried an MP3, and it worked as it should, so it seems to be a problem with FLAC.

Anymore support for MKV videos? I now see that everything gets converted to MP4 before being able to play.

Thanks again!

Can you please try the following:
1. In the play queue, click "Settings" and make sure the "Web player" option is selected.
2. In "Settings > Transcoding", make sure the "mp3 audio" transcoding looks like this:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -b:a %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

If it still doesn't work, please let me know which browser you are using.

Thanks

I upgraded from 5.2.1 to 6.0.beta1, and I think it looks great. It would be nice if you could view playlists by list, instead of the album art collage, and it would be nice if there would be a way to access music by folders, like you could via the old sidebar, but other than that, I do not miss the old left-hand sidebar as much as others.

That said, the reason I was on 5.2.1, and not 5.3, was that external playlists were broken in the latter version, as reported here:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16084

That same behavior is in 6.0b1, so, unfortunately, I've had to roll back to 5.2.1. Hopefully this is fixed in the next beta.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm adding list view for playlists, podcasts and the "starred" page in the final version.

And I'll look into the external player issue.
