The Shortcut-function is a handy feature if you want some music folders to be easily accessable. You can compare them with bookmarks in your browser. All you have to do is type the foldername(s) in Settings > General > Shortcuts and soon the shortcut will appear at the top of the index-page. So if you want the folder The Beatles to be a shortcut you just type in "The Beatles" If you have multiple folders you want to be bookmarked in this way, you'll have to seperate them with a space between them like: "The Beatles" Madonna Rock
@ acroyear I'm running SS 6 Beta2 and when I made a shortcut it showed up on the indexpage. Perhaps you'll have to do a folderscan to get it visible. It could be that it showed up in my setup because there was a folderscan going when i made my shortcut. [EDIT]: Just made a new shortcut in my setup and it appeared immediatly on my index page. So there's no need to rescan your folders.

ok, when i added one that was a top-level folder, I saw it show up. Not much use to me, as my larger folders in my collection have subfolders within them. Since SubFire is my primary player, if I need to skip straight to an artist, I just use the Artist/Album browser instead of the music directory one.

You can make shortcuts to subfolders, if you're doing it right. Just made a shortcut: "Led Zeppelin\Led Zeppelin III" Which shows up on my index-page as "Led Zeppelin III".
