Help with LAME transcoding

Postby zack » Mon Sep 28, 2009 2:57 am

Hi,
I've just installed this on my freenas 0.71RC1 AMD64. It has worked perfectly, the only issue I have is when I installed lame and tried to lower the bitrate of the MP3's to be able to stream efficently to my mobile, (becuse my bandwidth on my mobile is terrible GPRS). I get this

/var/subsonic/transcode/lame -S -h -b 64 /mnt/Awesome/freenas/Music/Music/The\ Potbelleez/The\ Potbelleez/01\ Trouble\ Trouble.mp3
ELF interpreter /libexec/ld-elf.so.1 not found.

I have had a look on the net and have not come up with anything really conclusive. I know that /libexec/ld-elf.so.1 definitely exists and also a symbolic link in /usr/libexec/ also exists. Any help you could provide would be fantastic thank you.

I don't know freenas by the way. I'll still try to give you a clue.
This is not a Subsonic issue, but problem with your lame transcoder...

My guess is that your lame binary is not compiled to link with the same libraries as on your system. (I.e. 64 bit support..)

Get the source code and compile a new lame binary on your system,, or download/install the correct binary.

Hint: If this not solve your problem, try posting the error in the FreeBSD forums since your server is running FreeBSD 7.2 !

I'm hosting Subsonic on a Dell PowerEdge server with Debian Linux, Athlon PC fileserver, GigaBit Ethernet.
Smooth performance :) Subsonic rocks !
