It appears to have been down now for many hours. A great app but glad I didn't install the final version 6. Using the beta and works fine but have seen too many problems with the final release. Just when I wanted to impress some associates with a demo, the Subsonic web server or connectivity goes belly up. Is this a "one man operation" looks like it might be, what a bummer. I have my own DNS to get into my Subsonic server. I am assuming if I simply append the Subsonic port to my DNS address as in http://mydnsaddress:4040 should get me there ? or am I held hostage by the Subsonic server which appears to go down for long periods of time on a semi-regular basis ?

It's only the redirect service which goes out. You can still use your server with your own DNS redirect indefinitely.

The monitor Subsonic (http://subsonic.org/) is back UP (HTTP 200 - OK) (It was down for 6 hours, 56 minutes and 52 seconds).

It's great that sindre_mehus is nice enough to have your server be able to redirect thru his domain name. But just FYI, you can get your own free DNS through http://www.noip.com . register to the site and it will give you a list of domain names that you can be under. Then download it's client so that way if your public IP changes, it will correct the DNS with the new IP. Since it's a free service, every month you will get an email to renew your DNS, you just need to click on the email link and acknowledge that you are still using that DNS. Cheers :-)
