6.0 beta 2 - log file doesn't show

Postby astrola » Sat Apr 02, 2016 9:50 am

I recently updated to 6.0 and have noticed that now the log file doesn't seem to include who played which songs any more?
This was a highly used function for me. As I like to see who has been listening to what.

Also is there anything that helps track what the others have played? Currently (without looking at the log file, which doesn't show this info anymore now) the only way to see who's been playing what is to look at recently played, and subtract the albums I know I have been listening too. Unfortunately it doesn't tell you the user who has listened to that song/album.

Finely the other way to see if anybody has been active is to look at the player which is the only play that lists the user name, but you really can't tell if they have been active at all, only that they established a connection and successfully logged in.

also any feature set that would improve User monitoring would be a great addition.

thanks

I wanted to echo this. Logging seems like it's taken a step back in 6.0.

I upgraded to 6.0 and noticed this too. I didn't see it mentioned in the release notes. I'm surprised there is so little discussion on this topic. I like to see who was listening to what, etc. If this was some DRM legal risk mitigation thing I can maybe understand, but I think it should be up to the server admin. There should be an option to turn the usage logging back on in settings somewhere.

Any news on this front ? Is there any ways to monitor who is using the server, and to listen to what ?
