Disable Chat?

Hi - I've just upgraded to 3.8 ß1, and was hoping I could, from the Settings interface, disable Chat. I can't seem to find that. Is there some other place I can disable this?

I see the the chatService reference in the code, but what is the recommended method of turning that off?

Me too, it's not something I'd likely use so would prefer to disable it if I could.
