Hi!

Subsonic uses the last-modified timestamp of a directory to determine if it needs rescanning. If the computer clock has been way off at some point, I guess this could cause problems.

If someone could be so kind to create a temporary admin account on their Subsonic server I could investigate closer.

Thanks

Hi Sindre,

I created an admin account for you. I'll PM you the credentials.

After some troubleshooting with Sindre I think I have a solution (not sure if it'll be permanent or not).

It seems that the issue had to do with the modify time of the artist folders. No matter if I updated the files within a folder, the parent artist time stamp stopped getting updated. I ran the following in powershell:
Code: Select all
$update = get-date
Set-ItemProperty -Path E:\ServerFolders\Music\ -Name LastWriteTime -Value $update

That forced all the files/directories in E:\ServerFolders\Music\ to have the last modified time as the current date/time . Running a rescan found all the missing music.

I'd like to thank Sindre for the help and for pointing me at the right place. If this happens next time, I'll bug the Covecube Stablebit Drivepool developers as this is obviously a filesystem issue.

I've tried creating files and folders then deleting them in hopes of getting the scan to find the new media I've added and it fails every time, now if I add something to an existing folder it will sometimes pick up the changes but not always. really need to find a solution to this problem as its driving me crazy.

the modified date for the folder is showing the correct time but it seems subsonic isn't reading that information when i make changes.

I had this problem since I first started evaluating Subsonic. I'm running Windows 10 64bit. The Powershell script earlier wasn't working for me but I found an app that did work out.

FolderTimeUpdate

I used the update mode option that updated folders for the folders and files under them at unlimited depth. Success! I have an updated library at last without having to reinstall.
