Fantastic to see a new release, and especially glad to see the album cover art search working again Usually used the Amazon one before, but Discogs definitely will do!

Question about the chat mode: I notice there's no per-user option to disable the Chat on the right side --- and that's OK, as you've added a new feature that SS didn't have previously -- and it's a great feature!

That said -- I notice that posts stick around for awhile. I tried a sample post yesterday, and it was still there when I logged in around noon today. This is also fine, however I'm wondering what to do if/when another user posts an inappropriate message that I'd like to delete. Is there a specific file within the Subsonic home directory that contains the chat history, that I could go in and manually edit to delete any inappropriate chat posts by users?

BTW -- just for good measure, I tried a "grep -r" command on the Subsonic home dir structure, searching for the text I'd entered in my test chat post..... but no file was found.

Might this mean that the chat history is stored somewhere in the MySQL DB? Or is it in a file under Subsonic home dir and I've somehow just missed something?

I have a transcode that works fine for "flac > mp3"

I copied it and removed the mp3 part and made it into a flac > wav conversion, but I am not able to get it to play through the embedded flash player.

Is there any secrets I need to know about to make that work?

This is the transcode setup for flac > wav:

flac > wav | flac | wav | flac -F -c -s -d %s

But this do not work. The file seems to cache itself, but the player will not play the song.

Do not work in Opera nor in Firefox. In IE it even do crash the browser.

Anyone that have got this to work?

Hi - Just upgraded from 3.7 to 3.8 beta 1 using the Windows installer. Love having discogs search back! However, it appears the installation overwrote all my settings with defaults. Users, user settings, players, port settings, etc., all gone. Not a big deal to recreate or restore as I made a full backup before installing and there wasn't a whole lot of customization in any case. Is that default behavior for beta releases?

Awesome work! The android app is great, when downsampling/bitrate limitation is off, but with it on, it doesn't play.

Maybe a problem with LAME, but webplayer works, and LAME runs (for a while, but guess it just encodes it fast).

But now for the problem, i dont no if it is the API messing things up but the webplayer now seems to set its self to Play | Clear | Shuffle | Undo | Settings | , the flash player no longer shows.

Got any ideas?

Sounds like the player type has changed. Please check that (Settings > Players). If you're able to reproduce it, please let me know.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for this fantastic piece of software. I've been playing with it the past few weeks and recently submitted a donation. It has given my obsessive compulsive disorder a new outlet as I am now compelled to update all of my album artwork!


I was going to report the same "More" bug and also point out that it appears that the album art appears to be re-sized assuming a square shaped album cover. In some cases I have audio-books or box-sets that do not conform to this shape.

Would it be possible for the resizing to only consider the overall width of the image? It appears that 3.7 handled it this way.

Also, I'm having to re-save a lot of the Amazon.com artwork that I download. The colors are off (sort of like a negative image). I'm wondering if perhaps this phenomenon is occurring when subsonic resizes the image... the images look fine in everything other application.

One more request... would it be possible to hide the chat frame?

Can we get a way to disable the chat/make it disappear/only give certain users access to it?

I'd be happy with the just the ability to hide it since it now entirely goofs the interface (settings menu list is partially covered), etc.

3.7 & 3.8 Beta, Windows Installer version, XP-Pro, Firefox & IE, Java 6 Update 16

Not sure what conditions cause this. If the artist tags for all songs for a given artist are exactly the same, the artist is not displayed in the main window frame even though it is configured to be in Personal Settings for Browse & Playlist. If I edit tags and change one artist tag to be something different than the others and save, then artist tags will display for all songs. Click link for visual.
