Missing "Subsonic" music service on Sonos

Postby luoto » Wed Dec 07, 2016 11:23 am

Hello.

I have set up Subsonic on my Mac but when I go to the "add music service" on Sonos there is no "Subsonic" item, despite the FAQ claiming there is.

Has it been removed? Am running the latest version of IOS/Sonos client.

Confused...

Thanks

Hi,

Did you check "Enable Sonos music service" in the Subsonic server settings ?
The name setup in the server settings is displayed in the Sonos mobile app when adding music services using the Sonos update from a few days ago.

I have never been able to get the Subsonic service to appear in my list of services automatically. It could have something to do with your network.

But you can always just register it manually, it only takes a minute, see this page:

http://www.subsonic.org/pages/sonos.jsp

This has always worked fine for me, once it's done it's done.

Thanks. I followed the instructions earlier but I will have another go after Christmas and see what happens!

Hi All,
I installed Subsonic and enabled Sonos but Subsonic did not appear in my Sonos controller Music Services list. Noting the advice and guidance kindly provided on this topic, I attempted to set up a Remote server following the instructions under the heading 'Using a remote Subsonic server' on the Subsonic Sonos page (http://www.subsonic.org/pages/sonos.jsp). All of the data I provided (on repeated occasions) appears to be correct but each time I submit the form I get 'Error 500 Internal Server Error'. I appreciate that this is a very generic error, so I am asking if anyone could advise as to why I might be hitting it in this particular context and primarily if there is any way to make Subsonic appear in my Sonos Music Services in a simpler configuration, please? All Sonos software is up-to-date and Subsonic was downloaded yesterday. Windows 10 OS.
Many thanks in advance for any help offered.

I presume you've checked if Subsonic is running properly by logging in on Subsonic with a browser using the credentials you used for Sonos.
If that's no problem, you must check if you've enabled the Sonos music service. ( Settings > Sonos > Enable Sonos music service)
You could try to disable windows Firewall for the time being to see if that's a problem.
Remember that in Subsonic Username AND Password are Case Sensitive.
Also make sure that the pc that's running Subsonic has a static Ip-adress.

Many thanks for the reply and it's a 'yes' to all of those points. I also have a call out with Sonos and will await their response before I look at the Firewall.
