Subsonic/Subsonic Agent/Subsonic Service Port

Postby gogoray » Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:09 pm

I'm trying to edit Windows Firewall to allow Subsonic to use port 9000, but I'm not sure which of the three(Subsonic / Subsonic Agent / Subsonic Service) I should open a port for; I'm assuming it's Subsonic Service, is that correct?

Also does it matter what port number I use? I know 80 is being used, as are 5800 and 5900 (for VNC). I'm not sure what the "best practices" are for choosing the Port number.

In review, if someone could help me choose a port number then which of the Subsonic entries need to have a port added. I've sucessfully added Subsonic to my router, so I think the problem is the port.

Thanks!

Just open the ports in Windows Firewall - you dont need to choose the application. So your question is pointless then ;)

It should work fine with prot 9000.
