How can I hide the player at the bottom of the screen in 6.0?

You can't unless you're prepared and able to rewrite some code. There's no option "Hide musicplayer" in Subsonic 6.

You only can deactivate the "Auto-expand play queue" in Settings->Personal, but not the entire player.

Thanks for your answers, guys! That sucks... I don't use the player and it takes up valuable screen realestate. Lol.
