FLAC playback stops anywhere between 5-60 sec

Postby DeathCon » Sun Jan 15, 2017 1:51 pm

Hi.

I've been trying to get subsonic to playback FLAC files with replaygain.
After some fiddling with the transcoder settings I was finally able to get subsonic to transcode FLAC files with replaygain to mp3 using the following settings:

Step 1: sox %s −−replay−gain album -p Step 2: ffmpeg -i - -map 0:0 -b:a %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

Now if I remove step 2 from the chain, an external player (tomahawk in this case) will start to play the file, but stop anywhere between 5-60 sec depending on the bitrate. The log will then contain a bunch of info I'm unable to decipher anything from.

Any insight into what is causing this error would be greatly appreciated!

The following is the log info from a playback attempt:

Being a windows installation have you checked file permissions?
Do you run subsonic service as system or a user?

Subsonic-service is run as system, while the agent is run as a user with admin privileges.
But I wouldn't think permissions would be a problem seeing as the transcode chain I posted successfully plays on the web player, while only using the first step in the chain starts playback on an external player, but then stops.

Thanks for the reply.

What version you running?
See if this thread helps.
https://sourceforge.net/p/subsonic/bugs/120/

I read some other posts reports that report the issue might be due to a timeout of the stream from the client you're using.
I use Tomahawk and have not run into this on my 6.0 beta 2 setup

Possibly realated to this report of transcoding settings.:
https://github.com/tsquillario/Jamstash/issues/108

Hope this helps.

I'm running the 6.0 version from April.

Thanks for the links, but I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the client.
I've tried multiple times in the past to get subsonic working with FLAC and replaygain with different clients, but I've always run into this problem.

The second link mentions transcodig FLAC to a lossy format, which I have no issues with. I rather think the problem is related to PCM playback.
