DNS Resolution Issue

Postby john.laguardia » Sat Jan 14, 2017 11:08 pm

I am having issues accessing my subsonic server from outside of my network. Port forwarding and subsonic domain in settings, network look good. They have been verified as successful from within Subsonic. I also used the open port check tool online and It was able to see me at

It seems like my URL popster.subsonic.org is not resolving correctly because it is resolving to 52.51.15.224. When I check it in the network utility, I get the following which verifies this:
Lookup has started…

Trying "popster.subsonic.org"
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 36408
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0

;; QUESTION SECTION:
;popster.subsonic.org. IN ANY

;; ANSWER SECTION:
popster.subsonic.org. 1800 IN A 52.51.15.224

Received 54 bytes from 75.75.75.75#53 in 78 ms

How do I get subsonic MX records to see me at the correct public IP of ??

Thank you!

Wow. Thanks for verifying that. I will do some additional testing outside of my network. Thank you.

The address that the paid version of subsonic grants you is a domain redirection and not a domain registration. So there's no MX records.
Whenever you try to resolve your subsonic.org adress it will always come up with the ip-adress 52.51.15.224.
But the redirection is working cause I too can connect to your server just using the popster.subsonic.org adress.
