Can't Update Past 5.3/6.0 breaks playback for certain albums

Postby benjmiller » Sat Jan 21, 2017 4:24 pm

Hello,

I am having a really odd issue with the latest version of Subsonic. I am a long time premium Subsonic user and have never experienced issues updating. However, I haven't been able to update to 6.0 since it was released. I should clarify that the update runs just fine and seems to do the trick, however certain albums just simply don't play. And there really isn't a clear pattern. Some Snoop Dogg works some don't. Again this isn't individual tracks, this is complete albums that don't play. It should be noted that downgrading to 5.3 fixes everything. Did they make some changes in the way Subsonic indexes music or something in 6.0? The reason I am asking is because I have a Mac with ExFat formatted drives for Subsonic. Not sure if that matters but I haven't had issues before with my setup.

Lastly I have tried everything I could think of to trick this into working, including upgrades, fresh installs, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

You could try to replace the 5.3versions of ffmpeg.exe and lame.exe in the transcode folder of version 6.
Also take a look at the transcoding settings to spot any difference between het configuration in Ss5.3 and Ss6.0.

Thanks for the tip. Swapping my old ffmpeg from 5.3 worked like a champ! :D
