No login required and possibly embedding the site on another

Postby teamsheetz » Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:31 pm

Hello,
I am thinking of paying for subsonic as im on the trial now. I would like to know two things, first i want anyone to be able to stream audio from this without registering an account. Second i was hoping i could embed it into another site. any help would be great, as i am testing the water on multiple different services like this for the best fit for what i need.

Thank you!

you can "share" a play queue (any list of files), which creates a web page to give to your friends to play without needing a login (it embeds an auth key that only works for the queue being shared). it would be possible to embed that into an iframe, or analyze its HTML code and extract what may be useful from it, perhaps changing styles to fit the rest of the page you'd be embedding it with.

The player provided includes basic controls plus album cover art if you've set any in your installation.

Okay, My next Question is how about a registration page. so users can just register them selves without me having to do it.

There's a feature req for one (maybe several), but there isn't one right now.

The API can support such a feature as a 3rd party app, but nothing is built-in at this time. I can envision one in my head right now, but I've other things to work on. With any 3rd party app, being external, you'd have to think carefully about security and how to convince site hosts that you won't abuse what access is granted.

SubFire Player and Radio are SPAs that have no server-side storage on my part, but a page like this would need to have something...I'll brainstorm on it this week.
