auto playlist from multiple genres

Name says it all. I'd like to be able to generate a playlist from (for example) jazz+acid jazz+soul, rather than just one. Would allow for more eclectic mixes

Related to this - I could be wrong, but it seems that auto playlists will only include mp3 files - which limits the utility of the excellent transcoding support. Is it possible to specify which formats to include in auto playlists?
