REST: Added getScanStatus and startScan methods.

Awesome!

Is there any chance we can get an easier way to use custom certs with Subsonic? Copying them into the jar is a bit of a PITA.

Honestly the slower scan times are the only thing I've run into. I have about 1.56TB of data and the initial scan took an hour or two. The update scans are actually pretty quick. Slower than before, sure, but nothing outrageous. I think it's probably worse for people with only music (more files) rather than video files.

The functional chromecast support itself is worth the scan wait.

1.5TB of only music here, and the initial and consequent scans took a day, and even the db crashes so it never added new songs :/ I downgraded to 6.0.

I have 209 GB of music, I am using mysql and the scan took a couple hours to complete. Prior versions (using internal DB) took about 5 minutes to scan with the same amount of music. That is the only "issue" I have seen with this beta release.

The first scan is expected to take more time, but how long does a rescan take?

Thanks

The rescan took 1 hour and 26 minutes. I put issue in quotes because it is not an issue to me. I do not care that it takes a while for the scan to complete. Performance has not been affected while streaming and Subsonic is still my number one favorite program on my server.

1h26min for 200GB is a lot of time to rescan. My entire collection of 1.5TB in Subsonic 6.0 took less than a minute :/

When I was using Subsonic 6.0 it scanned very fast as well. I am speaking of Subsonic 6.1 Beta 1 of which this post is under. I will not downgrade back to 6.0 as I am happy to help test out Beta versions for the improvement of the code down the road.

Yeah me too, but my HSQLDB broke and it wouldn't add new folders, and every scan took nearly an entire day, so I have no other option. :(
