Viewing disliked songs?

Postby TheScoop » Mon Apr 03, 2017 8:15 am

Does DSub or Subsonic keep a db of the disliked songs? If so, is there any way to view these items?

Thank you

Yes they are stored on Subsonic as 1-star rated songs. I'm not sure if there is a way to view all of them in one location, but they will still show up in the list of songs for an album as red songs. They will still show up by default they just won't play by default.

Yeah hmm the next mystery to figure out is how to filter songs by rating in Subsonic. Why is this so difficult lol?

..also, I don't think ratings get saved to the actual song files..right? It's all stored in Subsonic's db?

It'd be sweet if there'd be a way to save ratings > songs. Maybe through a script on a cronjob.

This would retain the ratings for use in other music players..or other implementations..like using Beets or another tool to generate playlists off this metadata.

It can rate (1-5 stars) whole folders, presumably rating all the contents within, but there's no way to rate individual songs yet. That's been an issue for a number of years now.

I've got an idea for making a playlist-editing app that will be able to star individual songs, but I've got other things to work on first.

You're saying that you cannot rate individual songs in the native Subsonic webapp, right? This appears to be the case.

But strangely it looks DSub can..right daneren2005?

Thanks for confirming. Just another reason why your application is so essential. I literally would not be using Subsonic otherwise..probably would need to resort to Google Play for my cloud music needs..so thank you for the amazing work!!

At this point I'm going to see if there is any way to craft a HSQLDB or API query to pull songs with rating [0..5]..

..And considering that you are already leveraging song ratings to a degree in DSub, any tips are welcome! :o
