Cover download doesn't work (solution found)

Hi everyone,

everytime I'm trying to download a cover in Subsonic i get the Error:

Code: Select all

javax.net.ssl.SSLException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unexpected error: java.security.InvalidAlgorithmParameterException: the trustAnchors parameter must be non-empty

It worked for a short time after upgrading from subsonic 5.x to 6.1.3 - but at a moments notice it doesn't work anymore.
Does anyone have an idea what's wrong or have a workaround for this? I found out, it has something to to with https:// ... when i'm typing an url with http:// only it works like a charm...

It seems like it is likely specific to that particular host and its SSL/HTTPS configuration and certificate. can you give an example of one of the URLs that's failing?

I've had no issues with most of the https sites I go to like Amazon, when last.fm is missing it or when i'm looking for an alternative.

That's the point. It doesn't even work with pictures from last.fm.

It seems like the server has problems with https reguests or something. I'm running subsonic on a windows server 2012 r2 standard if that's an important information.

I'm a little bit clueless about that and have no idea what to do. Nobody but me in this forum seems to have that problem...

Maybe totally uninstall and reinstall Java? Might be that you have a corrupted keystore in your Java installation.

Oh, I got it to work

The solution was to reduce the memory limit from 1500MB to 1024MB, but I have no idea how that can be related

The correct solution is to reinstall Java. I too had issue downloading cover art with https:// links and many times the download would fail within subsonic. Everything is working perfectly now.
