Yet another International chars problem

Hello,

I'm trying to setup Subsonic on my FreeNAS box, but I came across problems I've seen here on the forum already, but I couldn't come up with a solution.

Subsonic is not displaying the international chars correctly but I can't believe this is a unix/windows problem because when I click on "edit tags" things seem to be ok.

BTW I've copied my files from Windows to my Unix box in witch Subsonic is installed, but I'm accessing Subsonic through a Windows PC.


Another problem that I'm having with FreeNAS is that FreeNAS uses a stripped down version of FreeBSD with no audio drivers installed (and no make functionality). I've been trying to install the audio drivers for my AsRock N68-S motherboard with no luck, therefore I can't use jukebox mode.

If there are any freeBSD experts around that could help me with these problems I'd gladly donate to Subsonic.

Which browser are you using and on what operating system? Also, which version of subsonic are you on?

I remember seeing this in previous versions, but it is seems correct now using subsonic 3.8, and a firefox 3.5.5 browser:

I'm using subsonic 3.8 on IE8, though it looks that your listing reads ID3 tags and place all artists together, while mine is trying to read folder names and list them. Is there a setting for this?

BTW, your Volta album has extra songs ;P

Interesting. I looked in IE8 at our server and it is working fine. The only thing that may be different is that I have additional language support turned on for my browsing machine (but I think that only adds support for asian keysets) (If you want to try that, on XP you go to "Regional and Language Options" in the control panel, click "languages" tab and then select "Install files for East Asian Languages". Also, you could look on the "Advanced" tab to see if there is a code page you could turn on (like Icelandic) - I do have icelandic checked).

I have the music library laid out with folders named for each artist, a folder for each album inside, with the mp3s inside the album folder:

Then it lays our properly in Subsonic. You must have an album folder at the top level. My library has too many albums for that to be practical.

Something I was thinking is that IE may be caching the page if you upgraded subsonic. You could try holding ctrl while clicking the refresh button to force a reload of the page and refresh the cache.
