To get to the point of being able to support many of those voice-services would require a major rewrite of its security/authentication model to support OAuth2. Google and Amazon's systems both require that. Now Java libraries exist for that, but it is still one hell of a rewrite and then you have to add in a migration system...and making it easier to drop in signed certs because neither Amazon nor Google's systems will support self-signed non-CA certs. I already have problems with that for Amazon Fire devices (esp Fire TV) - if it hits a self-signed cert, it just shuts the app down entirely, no way to safely handle it and try to find a workaround like hitting the http link.
