SubFire-Quick new app

Postby acroyear » Sun Nov 24, 2019 2:34 pm

Inspired a bit by Perisonic (which as a Chrome App, is no longer supported by the browser), this is a "few frills" player designed for desktops/laptops.

Aside from the login credentials support, it is pretty much just a raw player - the front page is just Shuffle All (or a folder), Pick or shuffle a playlist, or pick a SubFire Radio generated station if using that service. The player page is pretty plain otherwise - just back, play/pause, next.

Future, i might add some easter eggs to show the current music playing time, and other optional things that won't clutter up the player page. Also might add an option to automatically start a shuffle to be closer to Perisonic's behavior.

The https version (if your server is secure) is a Progressive Web App, so you can 'install' it as an app on windows and mac boxes using Chrome. I don't recommend using it on mobile (the layout isn't optimized for it at all), but it does work there, too.

I'll get some screenshots up later today.

One more update to Quick.
  • The front page now also has links for Bookmarks and Restore Play Queue at the bottom.
  • The player page is cleaned up with the button aspect ratios as a circle shape like they should be instead of stretched
  • More actions are available (bookmark, save queue, skip 30 seconds, next album, shuffle) by tapping a semi-visible speed-dial in the upper right corner.

Probably going to take a break from this one after this push, but those nitpicks were bothering me. 8)

One more publish today - there's now a progress bar below the cover image to show how far along into the song it is playing (easter egg: don't like the bar's color, click the cover to flip to a secondary one). Also, inline with the other apps, I resolved the issue where if you reload and start something new, it 'remembered' where you were in the last played song and skips to that.
