Question about subsonic scanning music directory

Postby Megaspl » Thu Nov 19, 2009 2:54 pm

Hello,

Just started using Subsonic and I must say, its exactly what I am looking for in a music server. Great job!

The question I have is about the way Subsonic scans the directory's containg the music files.

For example; I have added the directory "/mnt/music". Right now the entire directory and all its sub-directory's have been scanned.
If I add new files to my music directory (for example "/mnt/music/hip-hop") does this get scanned right away by Subsonic or is there a time interval for scanning?

Can anyone please explain how this works exactly? Thanks in advance.

Regards.

I can't find any of my music at all. I don't know what I am supposed to do as for the directory on either my phone or on the desktop. Apparently you got it to work, what did you do for the context path?

Click on settings. You enter watched folders there.

Click on Settings/Search to configure daily rescan interval

Yes. Using Settings/Search is needed to be able to use the search box in Subsonic.

But to navigate to music just added, you only have to refresh your browser so that new artists shows up in the left column. - But you can also pick a different sub folder in the dropdown button in the left column to make the left list be updated.
