SubSonic Tray Icon crash

Postby sporky » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:04 pm

I'm currently running subsonic 3.7 on Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit. The subsonic tray icon ran fine until install the Microsoft ISA Firewall client.

The Microsoft Firewall Client isn't actually a firewall as the name might suguest. It's program that watches winsock requests for internet access then works out what username of the process that is requesting internet access then forwards these details to the Microsoft ISA Server which is running on another box and is also the subsonic's default gateway. Based on the firewall rules it then make the dession to route of not to route the traffic.

SubSonic is currently running as a windows service that has permission to access the internet but the tray icon is running as the current logoned user which doesn't. When logging on to the subsonic server to tray icon crashes with the following error.

org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionStoreException: Line 5 in XML document from class path resource [applicationContext-agent.xml] is invalid; nested exception is org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'beans'.

I've just looked at the ChangeLog and noticed two things

1.) 3.7 isn't the latest version
2.) version 3.8 contains a bug fix "Subsonic server doesn't require an internet connection during startup"

I have upgraded to version 3.8 and all is well.
