Duplicate Library/Songs Showing

Apologies as the newb if this has been covered, I did try searching first...

Much, but not all, of my music is listed 2x. Once as expected delineated by first letter. Second all listed, though still alphabetically but without letter breaks, under the header '#' in place of a first letter. When I add an album to a playlist, the songs end up showing 2x, Track 1 Track 1, Track 2 Track 2, etc. I'm not sure, but I think that it may be from music in the directory prior to some date...what that date is I have no idea. I only think this as the duplication of the songs in the playlist does not seem to happen with Recently Added.

I can confirm that there is only one version of each album and songs in the actual music directory. Ideas? Suggestions? Any hints are very very much appreciated!

Looks like this if it helps anyone help? Can't find anything in the tagging, in fact much of it was hand tagged (live music). Used MP3 Tag to check for extended tags etc. No one? Bueller? Thanks for any hints!!!
