Turning internet radio off

Postby Traconite » Thu Nov 26, 2009 6:35 pm

I can't seem to turn off the internet radio. If I play something else, I hear both the song and the radio. If I click on the radio, nothing happens. How do I turn it off?

Haha, I had this problem, and I felt a bit silly when I saw why.

If your issue is the same as mine it's because you are clicking the play arrow next to the radio station name.

If you click the radio station name then it loads the player in the centre of the screen, and you have all the radio controls for that station there.

Alan,

Thank you for your response. You are absolutely right, I am clicking on th eplay button. However, I cannot click on the Radio Station name. I tried, and it is not clickable.
Do you think it has to do with the website for the radio I want to listen to?

Not sure,

Try these, they both work in my subsonic (not sure if they work outside of UK)

Thanks! I tried them both, and I can hear them, but same deal. I can't click on the name or turn them off.
I wonder what's going on.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see when you play the radio station?

Cheers,
Alan.

Oh yeah, what browser are you using?

If you PM me, i'll set you an account on my Subsonic server, and you can see if you can play my radio stations, then you will know if it is a Subsonic issue, or a browser issue.

Same trouble here...

Was an answer to this problem ever found? I'm using Chrome and IE8 and get the same thing. Firefox won't access the Windows Media Player plugin on my machine so I can't test this issue there.

When I click the arrow (the text is not clickable) the stream plays in the background of the subsonic tab and can't be closed. Any music you play will play on top of the playing stream but not cancel it out. However if you right-click the arrow and tell it to open in a new tab or new window it does and plays just fine.

Didn't know if it was my machine or Subsonic. Kind-of weird.

I have tried this on four or five PCs now, both using I.E. and Chrome, using XP, Vista and Windows 7 and they have all worked fine for me.

I'm still using Subsonic 3.7, but it does the same thing. Station URL's that run through Media Player do not display a player user interface. I got around the problem by not using the Internet TV / Radio setup at all. I create links in the Welcome Message area under General Settings like the following example:

* {link: WABC New York|http://citadelcc-wabc-am.wm.llnwd.net/citadelcc_WABC_AM}

When I do it this way, a player UI displays in the Subsonic main window frame. At least it does for me using Firefox.

Go to Settings/Internet TV/radio

Name Radio: //STOP RADIO//

Stream URL: http://127.0.0.1

If u have premium account you can register a web address for your subsonic server in Configuration > Network like http://whatever.subsonic.org if you have that use the registered web adress before http://127.0.0.1
